For the first time, the Las Cienegas ride became an AERC Pioneer (3-day) ride as well as one of the first rides of the new ride season. Riders braved gusty winds and rain as they arrived in camp on Friday, through the night and on into Day 1. However, they were rewarded with sunny skies on Days 2 and 3. Five horse-and-rider teams completed all five days as Robert Ribley was First Overall on the Pioneer division. Ride Manager Marilyn McCoy will put on a second Pioneer ride -- Old Pueblo -- here in March.
